Daydream
36 x 48” (1.5” deep)
2024
Daydream lives in that in-between space — not quite waking, not quite asleep. It captures the soft drift of thought, the slow exhale of stillness, and the feeling of being briefly untethered from time. With luminous tones of pale gold, layered ivory, and misty blue, the piece glows from within, inviting a quiet pause.
Crafted through layers of translucent oil paint on gallery-wrapped canvas, Daydream reveals a luminous depth that shifts gently with the light.
This painting is part of an ongoing exploration of natural light and fluidity, reflecting a meditative attention to the everyday poetry of water and its movements.
Technique & Craftsmanship
Built up through many translucent layers of oil on gallery-wrapped canvas, Daydream achieves a luminous depth that shifts with the surrounding light.
The painted edges extend the composition seamlessly, inviting a continuous visual experience from every angle.
Signed by the artist and sealed with a UV-protective varnish, the piece is crafted to preserve its vibrancy for years to come.
While the painting is designed to stand beautifully on its own, optional white float framing is available for a refined, gallery-quality presentation.

A Note from Laura
I painted “Daydream” on slow afternoons when the studio light was especially soft — that kind of golden light that makes everything feel a little suspended.
I wasn’t thinking too hard, just letting the colors find each other. That’s what this piece holds for me: ease, drift, and openness.
